Washington DC and Mt. Vernon

When our two boys were young we took them to Washington DC on and about the 4th of July 1987. After two hours looking for our Hotel we at last got on with exploring our nations capital. Our hotel was just down the street from the White House so toured that plus the Capital Building, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials and the Air and Space Museum. We sat on the Washington Mall and listen to music from the Capital steps. The next day we went to Arlington Cemetery with the Graves of John and Robert Kennedy. After that we went to Mt. Vernon the former home of George Washington and his slaves.

Rome Italy

The people of Rome seem to like to dress up; I have never seen so many people so nicely dress in one city before. Rome of course bring to mind the ruins of the old Rome from its glory days and the Vantage Tour people took us on a Motor coach (Bus) Tour of the city which was very informative and I put on www.traveljar.com/bellrich with the full narrative. We also went to the Vatican which was over crowded and if I wasn’t with a tour I would wait until the afternoon to visit when the tours were over. I think the best part of our tour of Rome was the one we did on our own. If you do that tour the ruins first and get tickets for both the ruins and the Colosseum and avoid the crowds at the Colosseum.

Niagara Canada of 1969

This is a slideshow of our three day Honeymoon and the pictures we took in Niagara Canada. We stayed in the Sheraton Block Hotel with a room overlooking the Niagara Falls. When we were there the water to the American Falls was diverted so they could work on the Falls. We took a Bell Helicopter ride over Niagara Falls and Valley where I got what I think are some nice pictures there is one picture of the helicopter. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed our honeymoon in 1969.

While we were on our way to Rome from Florence by Tour bus (Tour companies call them motor coaches) and we stopped over at Orvieto, we toured the hill top town and had lunch. Then we were back on our way to Rome. Orvieto is a nice town where you could spend a day looking around this beautiful hill top town. This is both a video and slideshow

Pisa-Lucca and Florence

After we left the Vinci home the Vantage tour bus took us to Pisa which had something wrong with their Tower and wanted us to look at it. We took a look and agreed it was leaning, but we have more trouble with our Towers in New York, People keep trying to blow them up. Then we visited Lucca had lunch and on our return to Florence we stopped for an overview of the city.

Florence Italy

Florence is a beautiful city I think we visited most of the places we had heard about and the tourist areas, but have to return and just experience the city itself.
We visited the Santa Maria Del Flore Duomo (Cathedral) where we were allowed to take pictures and also Michelangelo’s David where no pictures were allowed, but it is great piece of art that you have to see in person.
